iv. Authorship criteria:

Authorship credit should be based on: 1) substantial contributions to the conception and design, acquisition of data, and/or analysis and interpretation of data; 2) drafting the article or critically revising it for important intellectual content; 3) final approval of the published version; and 4) agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work, including ensuring that questions about the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated. Each author should adhere to all four of these criteria. Following the first submission of a manuscript, any changes in authorship (adding or removing authors, or rearranging the order of authors) must be justified in writing to the editor by the authors involved. This letter must be signed by all of the paper's authors. Each author must also execute a copyright assignment. Corresponding author and first author: Multiple corresponding authors are not permitted for a single article in The Journal of Global and Area Studies. For each piece, only one author should contact the editorial office and readers. JGA will accept a statement of equal contribution for the first author if the research was clearly conducted by co-first authors. Correction of authorship after publication: JGA does not amend authorship following publication unless the editorial team makes an error. Authorship may be altered before to publication but not after submission if all authors engaged in the work desire it.

v. Duplicate submission and redundant publication:

Manuscripts submitted must not have been previously published or are currently being considered for publication elsewhere. Without the consent of the Editorial Board, no portion of an accepted submission may be replicated in another scientific publication. We immediately screen submitted articles for suspected plagiarism or duplication of publication. If plagiarism or duplication of publishing in relation to the journal's articles is discovered, the submissions may be rejected; the authors will be identified in the journal and their institutions notified. A letter of permission is needed for any previously published content. It is the author's obligation to get permission from the publisher before reproducing any content. This criterion is applicable to all text, figures, and tables.
